long island spearfishingMarty's Seabass . Some nice seabass on a 70' dive off the Jean Marie in Hapmton Bays.

Matt sasso Sea BassMo Seabass . I love these fish they are so tastey and they are plentiful on all LI wrecksboat

long island spear fishingNice Dive. The Jean Marie's Mate cleans up with some big seabass and a nice fluke. There was a lot of speculation as to what might have bitten Mr. Fluke

Nice Stringer.Always nice to lift a stringer of seabass like this over the stern

Brian's First Bug. A Secret Beach night dive broke this boys cherry. I have it on authority that Brian has become an avid bug hunter. He just can't get enough.

Karl's Flatties .Secret Beach also yeilded a nice pair of Fluke for Mr. Karl. Secret Beach always offers some nice opportunities for hunter gatherers

Richard Maxwell . Richard took this nice bass while diving the Moriches inlet

spearfishing classPrep at the Dock. Getting ready for a day of spearfishing along the North shore on Capt. Kevin Yachnickc boat

Under the Race. A nice bass taken while freediving at the race

Awsome. This pic says it all. Congrats to the fisherman and the photographer

Nice Striper . Also taken at the race. This big fellah is going to make a happy dinner for many

Pile'Em Up .It doesn't get better than this.

Jerry Blaski LobsterGreat Big Bugs . 8.5 and 5 pound lobsters I caught off the Panty wreck in 120 feet water. I was on the Jean Marie Dive Charters with Captain Ken on August 20, 2004. I also caught 3 other lobsters that day but I could not hold them all for the picture. They were smaller, just 1 3/4 - 2 pounders.
They did not warrant to be in the same picture as these babies.

Lobsters in the Bag.Counting up the bugs after a good dive off the North shore in the Port Jeff area. Don't discount the coastal regions of the sound. They turn out lots of game on shallow dives.

Matt sasso Striper38" Striper. This was a nice suprise. I drew this big guy in while demonstrating to the students how to find clams and break them up to draw in porgies. He was following the trail of clams we left.

Hampton Lobster . A real nice lobster from shinnecock on a beach dive. rare to find one this big during the day as they are usually tucked deep in their holes

Matt sasso BlackfishMonster Blackfish . Took this one in early March at the Ponoquogue bridge. Had to follow him across 2 channels and finally got him in the rocks. 14 1/2 lbs. He was 30 inches long.

Couple O'spearos .The bridge yeilded it's bounty with a brace of fluke and blackfish

Matt sasso MorichesMoriches Rocks . Holding up a couple of fish from a drift in the Moriches inlet.

Secret Beach Night Dive .A few bugs and some nice fluke.

Mixed Bag . Lobsters, Rock Crabs and Sea Snails ready for the pot. I love days like these. Yummy Yum Yum

Matt sasso trigger fish100lbs!!!! .There is over 100lbs of fish in this photo. Trigger fish, Fluke and Sea Bass were everywhere that day. I would show you the Sushi dinner but it might be too much to handle

spearfishing picturesTrip to Tampa. Bagged the Barracuda, Hogfish and Snapper while diving off the Narcosis Dive charter.

Conger Eel .Took this big boy in late November from a jetty in Montauk. I was able to get a head shot and I hit him right behind the head and severed his spine. Be careful about shooting these because they can kill you by wrapping themselves ,line and chaos all over you. You must be able to break the spine or don't take the shot.

Fluke picture Matt SassoOne Big Fluke. Weighed in at almost 14lbs. Was taken in Soiny Brook Harbor in 6ft of water. You don't have to go deep to go big.

Joey D .Captain Joey D with some nice seabass taken on the Black Warrior

spearfishing pictures moreLuke and Lance. "Luke and I dive off my 21’ Block Island Steiger Craft. That’s Montauk Lighthouse in the background. This was Labor Day weekend. Both Luke and I shoot with Mares Cyrano using breakaway short barbed finned, tri cut tip. We’ve been consistently boating 1-2 fish over 30 pounds per trip"

11lbs Flat!!!! .11 pound Fluke speared by Louie Schreiner

Big Tog . A jumbo Blackfish speared by Louie Schreiner

Lobster Baby!.Louie & Gina Schreiner with 11 pound bug caught on the South Wreck 150ft
